about me…
Brian is in his second year studying composition as a Graduate Assistant at Bob Jones University. He started playing the piano at 9 and now is a classically trained pianist with his undergrad degree in Church Music. He was taught composition by award winning composers Dan Forrest and Joan Pinkston. He has used his composition skills in a broad array of opportunities. Brian works as a composer for the classes of BJU’s Press Distance Learning program, a video based educational system. He is also called upon to compose the scores for larger scale children’s videos and documentaries put out by the University. Aside from his responsibilities at work, Brian is regularly called upon to arrange and typeset parts for recitals, programs and church services. Brian has also scored several student films in a broad range of styles and genres. Brian has hopes of one day becoming a full time film composer. Presently Brian is preparing to premier his original compositions in a recital this spring. It features a variety of compositional forms including an intimate song cycle, a large-scale chamber orchestra and choral work, as well as a sacred choral anthem.
